ZEF SKIRO DI MAXHO BETWEEN LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND THEATRE: A VOICE OF ARBËRESH CULTURE FROM TRADITION TO CONTEMPORANEITY

Abstract
The multidimensional figure of Zef Skiro Di Maxho (Giuseppe Schirò Di Maggio) stands as one of the most significant voices of contemporary Arbëresh culture. This paper aims to analyze his creative profile across three main domains: language, literature, and theatre, highlighting how he interweaves the cultural heritage of Arbëresh people with the aesthetic sensibilities and themes of modernity. Through a wide-ranging body of work, including poetry, drama, translation, and journalism, Di Maxho has contributed to the revitalization of the Arbëresh language, the preservation of cultural identity, and the affirmation of a literature that communicates both with its roots and with the present. His creative output embodies a model of intercultural dialogue, where language and art serve as tools for survival, awareness, and meaningful engagement with the world.
