Abstract
Grape vine leaves represent a very rich source of various minerals, including omega 3, which can be used as antioxidants in pharmacy, but this also requires a very intensive effort to extract these substances present in grape vine leaves, which is not so easy since it is difficult to determine which are the carrier substances in this plant in order to adapt an adequate method for their extraction. Extraction is a very suitable method for isolating these carrier substances as well as the binding substances, which are abundant in the composition of grape vine leaves, such as flavonoids and phenols. But even for extraction, adequate extraction methods are required due to the specificity of the leaves, which during drying take on a more compact shape and complicate the extraction process. Extraction by maceration and by percolation are the two most advanced methods for extraction, but also extraction by Ultrasound is a fairly cheap and efficient method when it comes to extracting leaves. It is important to try at least two of these methods and monitor the extraction coefficient and dry weight in order to adapt the most adequate method for extraction.
